Wet Paint! – My Latest Paintings

Today’s painting is of a grist mill located at the Blairsville Georgia city park (Meek’s Park). The wheel is turned by a steady flow of water but the giant gear attached to the wheel is not connected to the adjacent smaller gear that drives the internal milling wheel (and I’m not sure it even can be connected). Inside the building are various displays that describe the milling process and a collection of old black and white photographs showing various old grist mills located around Georgia. The painting was done “en plein air” (on location) on an 8″ x 10″ wood panel.
